THE MOTOR DEVELOPMENT STATION
There is a great interplay of brain and body in each child. This led us to focus on “Movement for Learning”. The activities at the M.D.S are developed to assist each child awaken and activate his / her mental capacity.
Some features of the Motor Station.
Exciting equipment such as balance beams, trampolines, obstacle course and parachutes are all used as exciting catalysts for movement in the Motor Development Program.
Perceptual Motor Program[P.M.P] – Specific movement patterns woven into each session that helps focus on stimulating the sensory motor system and integrating it, helping the child’s brain to sort, organize and put messages together. The P.M.P helps children to achieve accelerated learning, improved co-ordination and an improved ability to focus on tasks.

Music and Movement – Music, rhythm and dance are integral to the Motor Station and aid in developing listening skills, sequencing language and motor co-ordination.
Climbing frames that can be adjusted and altered to suit each child’s needs are aimed at improving muscle tone, balance and body awareness.
The Kangaroo Kids Club has a wide range of commercially produced resources and manipulative equipment used to develop eye-hand co-ordination and the manual dexterity necessary to write.
